As riders, we know that every choice we make has a real outcome. We stay focused on what fuels our passion—training hard, eating well, and staying drug-free—because these decisions give us the clarity, energy, and confidence to perform our best. We share with students that a drug-free lifestyle lets us seize opportunities and enjoy the full excitement of BMX riding without anything holding us back.
We talk openly about the consequences of negative choices and how substance use can slow us down, cloud our judgment, and erode our potential. By contrasting the crisp focus and long-term rewards of a healthy, active lifestyle with the short-term risks and long-term harm of drug use, we encourage kids to make decisions that support their goals. Our crash-and-comeback stories remind students that perseverance and positive choices are what keep us moving forward on and off our bikes.
To help bring this message to schools, we align our program with funding opportunities that promote healthy lifestyles and drug-free communities. Programs like Drug-Free Communities Grants and CDC Healthy Schools support substance-use prevention, while PTA Wellness initiatives and Title IV-A Student Support & Academic Enrichment grants fund wellness and enrichment activities. Leveraging these resources can help schools host our motivational assembly and inspire students to choose the path that keeps their passion burning brightly.
