We know that mental health plays a crucial role in the lives of young people, and as athletes we’ve learned that taking care of our minds is just as important as training our bodies. Our BMX shows give us a platform to openly discuss topics like anxiety, resilience, and mindfulness in a way that resonates with students. We share stories of overcoming setbacks, finding balance between competitions and schoolwork, and supporting teammates through tough times. By framing mental wellness as a strength, we encourage kids to speak up when they need help and to look out for one another.
Schools can use a variety of funding sources to bring mental health programs like ours to their campuses. Social-emotional learning (SEL) grants, PTA initiatives, Title I funds, and even STEM programs can all support events that integrate messages about mental wellness with lessons in physics and engineering. We highlight how the science behind BMX tricks connects to problem solving and perseverance, showing that mental resilience and academic achievement go hand in hand. By leveraging these funding streams, administrators can create holistic experiences that align with educational priorities and wellness goals.
When you book our mental health-focused show, we work with you to tailor the conversation to your community’s needs. We encourage collaboration with PTA leaders, student services departments, and local wellness committees to ensure the program has lasting impact. Our team provides follow-up resources and suggests ways to keep the dialogue going through SEL activities and peer-support initiatives. Together, we can empower students to prioritize their mental health, support their friends, and build a compassionate school culture.
