Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) are frameworks that help schools foster respectful, supportive environments. When we bring our BMX assemblies to campuses, we intentionally align our messaging with these programs. Our shows emphasize the importance of kindness, responsibility, and perseverance, ensuring that students see action sports as more than just entertainment.
During each performance, our athletes model behaviors that PBIS encourages, such as helping one another and following safety guidelines. We explicitly call out traits like respect and responsibility when demonstrating complex tricks, reminding students that preparation and patience lead to success. By weaving these messages into thrilling stunts, we capture attention while reinforcing behavioral expectations in a memorable way.
Social Emotional Learning focuses on self-awareness, empathy, and relationship skills, and our assemblies offer real-life examples of these concepts. Riders share personal stories about overcoming fear, working through frustration, and supporting teammates, which helps students relate to emotions they may encounter daily. By discussing feelings openly, we help normalize conversations about mental health and encourage young people to build supportive relationships.
We design audience participation segments that strengthen SEL and PBIS principles by inviting students to cheer on their peers and celebrate positive choices. When the crowd encourages a classmate to volunteer or supports the principal as they watch a daring jump, students learn the power of community and collective encouragement. These interactive moments teach that celebrating others’ achievements and demonstrating empathy are just as important as personal success.
By integrating PBIS and SEL into our BMX assemblies, we offer schools an engaging program that supports existing initiatives while delivering high-energy entertainment. Teachers appreciate that the show reinforces curriculum goals without feeling like another lecture, and students leave inspired to practice positive behaviors both in and out of the classroom. The result is a comprehensive assembly that partners with schools to cultivate kindness, resilience, and a love for learning.
